1947 MERCURY 4 WHEEL DRIVE WOODIE
The year was 1947, say you were a nature photographer looking for a 4 wheel drive station wagon. You wanted something other than a Ford, so you ventured down to your local Mercury dealership. The salesman meets you at the door and you explain your situation to him and your needs are for a true 4 wheel drive wagon that can take the abuse of off road wilderness excursions. The salesman explains to you that Mercury contracts with the Marmon-Herrington Company to convert the standard 1947 Mercury woodie wagon into true 4 wheel drive off road units.
This is how this true, original, 1947 Mercury, Marmon-Herrington woodie wagon started it's life. ACCORDING TO THE EXPERTS THERE ARE ONLY 3 TRUE MERCURY MARMON-HERRINGTON WOODIE WAGONS IN EXISTENCE!
Woodie USA is privileged to present for sale this 1947 Mercury, Marmon-Herrington, 4 wheel drive woodie wagon that has undergone a complete, frame off restoration, featuring impeccable original wood with many coats of marine spar varnish. The metal body is near perfect with many coats of a very rare factory color, Parrot Green Metallic. The interior is the correct factory leather that still has the fresh new smell. The Marmon-Harrington Company had many conversion options and this wagon has the full time 4 wheel drive transfer case with no provision for 2 wheel drive, in other words it is a constant 4 wheel drive unit, which does limit the top speed of the woodie.
Priced far below the market for such a rare vehicle at $169,900.
