Burgundy Beauty
In 1949 the Ford Motor Company made a leap of faith with their new body style and brought the”Shoe Box Ford” to the American public. This new Ford station wagon had a more modern suspension than the previous models and the styling reflected modern stream line features.
If you like the ’49 to ’51 Ford wagons you are going to “LOVE” this modified 1949 Woodie. It has all the modern safety features of many current vehicles with a 5.0 Fuel injected Mustang engine, A.O.D. (automatic overdrive) transmission, Ford 9” rear end with freeway gears. The wagon underwent a full frame off rebuild some years ago but still shows as fresh. The suspension is the modern Mustang II rack and pinion power steering with front disc brakes. The wagon features include: Front shoulder seat belts, air conditioning, power brakes, power windows, shaved door handles with power openers, CD and DVD player with many speakers and an amplifier to boost the listening pleasure. The interior features burgundy leather bucket front seats, custom wood console and a great headliner with wood bows. The paint and body are near perfect with metallic burgundy paint, maple exterior wood and a wood tailgate. The tires are wide white walls with stock hubcaps and wider wheels. The frame and suspension are powder coated white and the underside of the floor pan is painted to match the exterior. The wagon is a former “show car” and is spectacular in every detail.
This wagon is a pleasure to drive and will take the occupants down the highway in complete relaxing comfort wherever they choose to travel from the mountains to the sea. Come see and drive this Resto-Rod, modified 1949 Ford Woodie wagon at our great Southern California location.
Priced far below the market and half what the build cost must have been at $69,900.
